TestTools
Overview
XTest is general test framework for Java based products tests. XTest
consists from set of utilities, templates, sample configurations and
recommendations how to build integrated, flexible and easy to use test
environment. The XTest framework is planed to be base for NetBeans
testing. XTest is based on open source products like Ant, JUnit, Xalan
and NetBeans. More information about XTest, its architecture, and about
future plans you can read in
XTest
Overview document.
Why XTest?
The NetBeans based products tests development and maintenance should be
much easier. XTest should enable to make the testing a
real
integral part of software development (in sense of XP techniques). Even
the key required capabilities are already implemented in the above
mentioned products (Ant, JUnit, Xalan, NetBeans), some extensions
(utilities) are necessarily to integrate them in consistent flexible
NetBeans test environment.
How to start with XTest?
The most complete information about XTest features and capabilities can
be found in
XTest documentation. Remember that
XTest has been evolving for a long period of time. Not all documents
are applicable for all releases of NetBeans IDE. If you find outdated
document, please file a issue or send us an email.
To see XTest in action you can watch a short demo at
NetBeans TestTools
portal.
